Pro Late Models continue to put on a show…

The North Carolina native Matt Craig #54 has been strong this year at Montgomery Motor Speedway in the “Show me the MONEY” pro late model series. Craig #54 jumped out to the lead over Christopher Tullis #12, by finding speed in the second groove. The two ran side by side for 10 laps, with Matt Craig #54 leading all of the first 13 laps. Christopher Tullis #12 then made the bottom lane work and took the lead back from Craig. Right behind them, a fast Augie Grill #112 continued to do his thing, looking to take advantage of any mistakes. Jake Garcia #35 started in the seventh spot, and worked his way up to fourth, where he was content running and saving his tires for the second twin 50 feature. As laps wound down, things became interesting. Christopher Tullis #12 continued to run the bottom line, with Matt Craig #54 running the top line, side by side battling for the lead. Christopher Tullis #12 was able to hold off Matt Craig #54 and Augie Grill #112 and take the win in the first of Saturday nights 2 features. At the conclusion of the first twin 50, winner Christopher Tullis #12 rolled the die as the crowd at Montgomery Motor Speedway watch it land a 1. This meant they would start the second feature the same way they finished the first, and Christopher Tullis #12 would lead the field to the green. Just like the first race, it was Matt Craig #54 getting a good run on the outside and winning the restart, putting him out front. Craig #54 led the first 20 laps, before a hard charging Jake Garcia #35 made the pass for the lead. Behind Garcia #35, Augie Grill #112 worked his way up to second.
