February 4, 2016 Montgomery Al: The first drivers registrations are Rolling in and racers across the south are marking their calendar for March 12th 2016 as R.S. Trucking sponsors the”Spring Explosion 125″ The first of the” Show Me the Money” Presented by Blacksheep Woodlands Pro late Model races for 2016.
Chandler “Pee Wee” Smith was the first driver to present his 2016 drivers registration as the Jasper, Georgia hopes to be first also on race day. The Smith General Contracting sponsored team has brought on short track Ace Ricky Turner as crew chief to turn the wrenches on Chandlers new LFR Chassis Chevy machine. Smith Competed in 2 events in 2015 and topped a field of 26 top notch drivers to earn his First pole award at Montgomery Motor Speedway at the Saturday of Speed event in August.
Chandler brings quite a resume for a young driver with 6 National Quarter Midget championships, 3 INEX Bandolero National titles , 1 pro late model win at the tender age of 12 and was the youngest driver ever to make the field at the Snowflake 100 during Snowball derby weekend at 5 Flags Speedway in 2015. Smith will be competing at Montgomery Motor Speedway in 2016 hoping to win the Sunoco rookie of the year and the Championship in the “Show me the Money” Pro Late Model Series
Montgomery Motor Speedway will offer open Practice for all divisions March 5th with pit gates opening at 10am and practice from noon till 4. Immediately following practice the historic oval will be transformed into a road course for the 4 cylinder front wheel drive enduro race slated to run 1.5 hours and will be completed under the lights.
Opening night for Stock car action will be March 12th as R.S. Trucking brings you the Spring Explosion 125 plus the Return of the Modifieds of Mayhem tour, Featuring the high horsepower ground pounding Open Wheel Modifieds along with Street Stocks and the Modified minis.
Mark your calendar for Sunday April 3 as track records will fall when the King of the WING 410 Sprint cars roll in to MMS for their 2016 “Southern Swing” The Sunday event will also feature the 2016 season kickoff of the Interstate Batteries Late Model Sportsman Battling for 35 laps.
