January 6, 2024 Montgomery, Alabama : 19 Crown Stocks showed up and showed out at MMS as the division hit the track for the first time and the event kicked off the 2024 Racing season. The track held an open practice for all divisions with a handful of cars taking advantage of the early season session.
The Story and Bleich roofing Crown stocks took the track for single car qualifying. From seasoned veterans to first time competitors the field was stocked. 18 cars took time around the historic 1/2 mile oval with #4 Chris Salter setting fast time at 25.175 /71.5 MPH. Ryan Maxwell #17m was 2nd quickest at 25.227 with Cameron Adams rounding out the top 3.
Heat races were next on the docket. 3 heats went off without a hitch and gave the competitors more track time to sharpen their Skills.

The 20 lap feature was quite a show as the Battles were fierce but clean. A hard hit by #5 L Jason Lang from Warner Robbins Georgia ended his night in turn 2. Local standout Sydni Bean #151 had her short track debut running a respectable 12th place. #22 Chris Mitchell had a great podium finish with a strong 3rd place. #26 Buddy Pitts won $100 from Front Porch Grill for being the “Oldest” driver to finish on the lead lap. Michael Driskell Received $100 from Lang Concrete being the youngest driver on the lead lap. Jason Lang from Lang Concrete also added $200 to the winner’s purse. Thanks to Jason and his son for the support of the Crown Stock Division.
When the checkered dropped it was Chris Salter #4 in Victory lane winning the Inaugural running of the Crown Stocks at MMS . Second place was Ryan Bleich #17b followed by #22 Chris Mitchell, 17M Ryan Maxwell and Braden Kitchen #X rounding out the top 5.
