Fall Brawl – Battle Till the End

After inclement weather forced Montgomery Motor Speedway’s Fall Brawl 100 back a month, it was finally time to get back to the track on October 1st. The Show me the MONEY series, Modifieds of MAYHEM Tour, and Blacksheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsman were all on tap for the fun night of racing. The 5th of 6 Show me the MONEY races this season at MMS would see Jake Garcia #35 coming in to the Fall Brawl 100 as a slim points leader over Rookie Gio Ruggiero #81.

Show me the MONEY PLM Fall Brawl 100

A strong field of Pro Late Models continued to show up to MMS this season. Some of the best short track drivers all across the Country raced in the State’s Capital. Ryan Luza #9 with Jett Motorsports this weekend opened the night’s festivities up with the BAMA Budweiser Pole Award setting the night’s fast time. Gio Ruggiero #81 with multiple runner-up finishes this year, sat second in the Qualifying session. Justin South #43 rounded out the top 3.

After the re-draw, Justin Bonnett #12 led the field to green and jumped out to the lead right away. Justin Bonnett #12 has showed speed all season long, but has seen bad luck throughout. Bonnett would pace the field and lead the first half of the race before Gio Ruggiero #81 made his way to the front and passed Bonnett for the lead. After Luza #9 took the lead, the caution flag waived just past the halfway mark. A multiple car pile up ended the night early for some, and wounded other contending cars. The night ended early for Jeff Dawkins #2, Landon DeVaughn #14, Justin South #43, and Justin Bonnett #12. As we went back green, it was a battle of the young guns up front. Former Alabama 200 winner and current Show me the MONEY series points leader Jake Garcia #35, Gio Ruggiero #81 looking for his first win at MMS, and Ryan Luza #9 battling for the lead.

Gio Ruggiero #81 came out victorious and wins his first Show me the MONEY series race at Montgomery Motor Speedway. Jake Garcia #35 followed with a runner-up finish and Ryan Luza #9 finished with his first podium finish at MMS with a 3rd place finish. Rackley WAR competitor Dawson Sutton #26 in his first ever Pro Late Model start raced a smart race and finished with his first ever top 5 at Montgomery Motor Speedway with a 4th place finish. Dirt track racer Cody King #62 rounded out the top 5. JoJo Wilkinson #11 added her best finish ever at MMS in the Show me the MONEY series bringing home a 6th place finish and moving her into the 7th place in the point standings.
