April 29, 2021 Montgomery, Alabama : With beautiful weather and some great racing, the Autograph night brought new and old fans alike.
Bama Budweiser Fast time qualifying was the first event of the night with #18 Dave Mader III setting fast time in the Blacksheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsman division with a time of 21.083 on the famed oval. #20 Bill Bethea III was right on his heals with a time of 21.134. Last race winner Cody McCawley was 3rd fastest 21.280, Alan Callaway #6 from Locast Fork Alabama clocked a time of 21.369 and Former champion Justin Caton #44 rounded out the top 5. the feild was tight with 87 drivers under the 22 second mark.
Pro 4 qualifying saw last years Champion Eddie Dodd setting fast time for the Pro 4 division at 23.103.
The Racing night started with Heat races in the Shelby Concrete Street Stocks. The heats were set from a random draw and gave the drivers another racing opportunity.
The three heat winners were Charles Davis #6, Trey Grimes #51 and JC Cleckler #5
The feature racing started with the pro 4 division hitting the track for the first of twin features. It didn’t take 2020 Pro 4 Champion Eddie Dodd #81 long to get back to his winning ways as the Birmingham Driver captured his first Checkered flag of 2021.

Blacksheep Woodlands Late model Sportsman hit the track for the 35 lap main event. At the drop of the green #20 Bill Bethea III took the point and set the pace for the 12 car field. Mechanical issues plagued both the #80 car of Tim Lynn and the #88 Larry Hughes ending the night early for both drivers. Although Bethea held the lead for the first 25 laps there was plenty of racing action behind him.
Lap 25 saw the only caution of the race displayed when the #28 Mike Fields and #44J Clay Joseph were involved in turn 4. On the restart it was the #18 of Dave Mader III capturing the top spot and holding it for the final 10 laps and scoring his First win of 2021. (See Dave Saturday in the ARCA race at Talladega Speedway). Bill Bethea III brought hame a 2nd place finish, Last race winner Cody McCawley #62finished 3rd. Mississippi’s Mark Singleton finished 4th and newcomer to MMS Alan Callaway #6c rounded out the top 5.

Some one commented during the street stock race that it must be a full moon … although no full moon, it was a night filled with excitement. After heat races and a dice roll the field was set for the 30 lap feature race. Caution flew early on lap 3 for a spin by the #2 Foley in turn 2. During that caution Daniel Jacks #1 retired his ride due to mechanical issues. Lap 16 saw a talladega type wreck in turn 2 starting with contact between the #5 of Cleckler and the #17 of Atkins involving a host of other cars. On the restart leader #51 Grimes lost a motor and collected the #2 Foley, #81 Grace , #37 Seamon. At the conclusion of the event it was Charles Davis #6 bringing home the hardware for his first win of 2021.

Attention Racers … There will NOT be open practice on Friday April 30. 2021 this will be a 1 day Saturday show. A bonus of $500 will be paid to the highest point total for the 2 races (5 flags Speedway Allen Turner Pro Late Model race April 30 and Montgomery Motor Speedway “Show me the MONEY” Spring Explosion May 1, 2021
