Montgomery, Alabama July 13,2020:One of the most anticipated events of the year is the “Rumble by the RIVER” featuring the Southern Super Series. After wins by Cole Anderson, Donnie Wilson, this year the event saw its first repeat winner in Senoia, Georgias Bubba Pollard #26 as the 2019 winner of the Red, White and Blue boxing gloves added another pair of gloves and a $10,000 pay day.
The evening started with Bama Budweiser qualifying with the Outlaw cars hitting the track. Local Short track star Joe Bethea #33 clocked a lap od 20.354. Bubba Winslow #92 was only a tick behind as he motored around the Historic oval at a 20.360. Jason Furrow rounded out the top 3 with a time of 20.464.
As the sun was setting in turn 4 the Southern Super Series took their shot at 2 timed laps. Laying down the fastest lap of qualifying was #26 Bubba Pollard at 19.142. The top 5 were very tight with Hunter Robbins Piloting the #18 Ronnie Sanders machine to second fastest 19.158. Jeremy Pate in the #21 Cook Electric entry was 3rd at 19.172. Local favorite Augie Grill #112 had issues in Qualifying and would have to start at the rear of the field.
After a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem by Southern Super Series Tech director Brian Caudill it was time to race.
In the Pro 4 feature it was Calvin Lewis #85 setting fast time in group qualifying but it was Eddie Dodd #81with his 3rd win of the 2020 season.

The Southern Super Series hit the track next with the top eight cars shaken up by the redraw putting Jeremy Pate #21 and Kyle Plott #4 starting on the front row. Drop of the green saw Kyle Plot t#4 jump to the lead and hold that spot for 40 laps. Next it was some familiar territory for Hunter Robbins as he took the top spot for the next 53 circuits. Conner Okreszik was in the fight all night long and took his place at the lead on lap 94 and flexed his muscles. The race saw a lot of young drivers showcasing their talents. Afetr some problems early in his run Dawson Fletcher fought his way back to a top 5 finish. Jackson Boone was the bridesmaid as he finished one position short. Georgia stand out Jake Garcia #35 gained another podium finish with a strong third place finish. In the End it was Bubba Pollard #26 taking command of the race on lap 99 and never looking back .

Just as the Super Late models are rare at MMS the Outlaw cars are not a regular feature. The race featured both local talent and some drivers from quite a distance. The race was fast and furious as they came out of the box screaming. The Outlaws put on a clean race with Bubba Winslow showing his speed as well as Joe Bethea #33 and Jason Furrow #21. At the end of 50 laps though it was Texan John Heil #96 taking the green flag.

In the School Bus Race it was Carl Jacks saving his stuff till the end and grabbing the lead with 2 to go and the win.
