The stands are always packed for the “Show me the MONEY” series. The fans know the best racers in the country come to the tricky ½ mile to show their talent. The Coca Cola redraw mixed up the top 8 drivers putting the #2 of John Bolen on the point position for the initial start with the #112 of Augie Grill on the outside. Grill takes the lead and holds it till a single car spin by the Young Driver from Hueytown Alabama Jolyn Wilkinson #11 brought out the first yellow of the day. On the next restart Clanton’s Bobby Knox Jr #30. Caution on lap 32 bunched the field up again and the #18 of Roderick took his turn at the front of the field. The event ran clean and green through the middle of the race with great battles and side by side racing going on all over the track. Complete Lap by lap coverage can be seen at :

The heat really turned up as the last laps wound down. With the lead pack going into turn 1, contact between the #30 of Knox and #18 of Roderick gave the lead to #33 Dustin Smith who grabbed the lead. Smith had the lead for lap 97-98 and 99. As the #33 entered turn 3 the #18 made his move to the outside. At that point the race earned it’s name as “Disturbing the PEACE” became the theme of the end of the event. As the #33 moved up to take away Roderick’s line he left the bottom open for Augie Grill #112 and grill stuck it in there. Contact between all 3 cars sent the #33 for a spin coming out of turn #4. 2 time “Show me the Money” Champion Roderick hung on the outside for his first win at Montgomery Motor Speedway in 2018. Rookie of the year contender Joyln Wilkinson had a very strong 4th place finish.
