Wholesale Controls is a family owned corporation established in February 1977 under the name Alabama Wholesale Controls. The original owners, Clayton Reuse and Ken Bettini, gained building automation experience while working for Honeywell.

Clayton and Ken opened their first Alabama Wholesale Controls store front in Birmingham, Alabama that year. Two years earlier, when Clayton, a mechanical engineer opened a business named Alabama Controls Inc., he began establishing relationships with engineers and contractors through installation of pneumatic and electric controls. After Ken joined him in that business in 1977, the two men formed Alabama Wholesale Controls.

They provided design assistance for construction projects, including commercial drawings, submittals and data booklets. In addition, Alabama Wholesale offered an array of commercial building automation products, such as electrical components, damper actuators and valves. In the early 1990’s Alabama Wholesale Controls moved to its current Pelham location and shared space with Alabama Controls. Clayton’s youngest son Bobby actively managed the daily operations of Alabama Wholesale and began to build more relationships with customers throughout the region, across the country and around the globe. In 2000, the company name was changed to Wholesale Controls International in order to reflect this broader-reaching customer base.

Today Wholesale Controls International has three dedicated locations and two satellite offices shared with Alabama Controls in Huntsville and the Gulf Coast. Our goal is to provide service and support, in partnership with industry manufactures, through visibility.
