March 24, 2015
Montgomery, AL

For some racers and fans this weekend could not come soon enough. The excitement in the racing world is at a feverish pitch as racers head to Montgomery Motor Speedway this weekend for the first race of the 2015 season. Fans will see new and old faces as the
“Show me the Money”
Pro Late Model Series returns to the historic track for Twin 50 lap features.

Last years Pro late Model Division was a tight contest with first place finisher John Tyler Bolen From Jasper, AL and Bill Bethea III a local Montgomery racer tied in points and had to go to a tie breaker to decide the championship. The competition will be even tougher as some of Montgomery Motor Speedway favorites will be challenging them for the 2015 title.

Former Show me the Money winner Justin South in his #43 machine, Bobby Ruese sporting a new Pro Late Model car, Dennis “Tink” Reno, Bobby Knox Jr., Chuck Tuck and Perry ”P2” Patino will bring their “A” game along with a very strong field of competitors.

Alabama will not be the only state represented as a strong contingent of drivers from Georgia will make the trip down Interstate I-85. Flowery Branches Rodney Benefield, Luke Christian, Riley Thornton, Lee Langford and Christopher Tullis will all be gunning for the trophy and the check.

Montgomery Motor Speedway local Divisions will also be in action as the Interstate Batteries Late Model Sportsman will compete for 35 laps, Track champion Justin Caton looks to defend his title against some very talented drivers. Joe Hudson will be back sporting a retro look in the #3 car, Shelby Ruese has a new ride and looks to work her way up the ranks of this exciting division. Brad Edwards has stepped up his game and moved from the Street Stock to the Late Model Sportsman Division. Travis Cleckler from Clanton AL. as well as a few others will be sure to add to the racing excitement.

When we talk about Street Stocks fans stand up and cheer, Dwayne “Collard Green” Wesenberg has been polishing his ride for a run at his second title in 2015. Wesenberg will see some tough competition as #17 Chance Atkins is ready and chomping at the bit to get this season started as well as an old face in a new car, fans may remember Charles Davis a competitor from a few years ago. He will be back along with a new team mate that he has converted from the dirt track scene. Don’t count out David Wood in the #24 car as he was seen in the grandstands last Saturday timing his competition.

Modified Minis could be the surprise division this year as a renewed interest has brought some new cars to the track and the return of some old favorites. Chris Landers #9 looked sporty at open practice last Saturday along with his team mate Nick Doehring. Eddie Dodd started the day with some mechanical issues but finally got his pinto up to speed. Ashley Bridgemon #2 should make a strong run in this division as well as Steve Looney sporting a sharp matte black #21 and
Rusty Alverson makes his return to MMS in 2015.
