Racing is the name of the game at Montgomery Motor Speedway and this Saturday July 12th the Ground pounding Open Wheeled Modifieds return to the half mile gem of the south for a 50 lap special feature. Racers have been calling the track and preparing their rides to compete in the Alabama Slammer. The race will pay $1200.00 to win and may be increased to $1500 should the car count hit 16 or more. This will be the first time in 2014 the division will visit Montgomery Motor Speedway and will compete on Hoosier F-53 tires and under the Gulf Coast modified rules. Weight rule for MMS OWM race will be 7lbs per cubic inch Maximum 2600 lbs (Aluminum Heads must add 50 lbs in front of flywheel)… . The track will have open Practice Friday night for all divisions gates will open at 4 practice from 5-8. Saturday pits will open at 2pm.

The Alabama Slammer will also feature the Modified Minis in a 30 lap special event. Drivers will compete under the MMS Modified minis rules but will be allowed to use the Hoosier 790 track tire or the Sayre American racer tire for this event (As always no tire prep or soaking allowed) pre approved Buzz cars on street tires may also compete. All cars must go thru pre race tech. Pay out for the 30 lap event will be as follows

The Saturday event will also feature Nationally acclaimed stuntman Rocky Hardcore performing a 2 car steel wall crash in a topless vehicle and plenty of racing action in the Uncle Bob’s Self Storage Street Stock division and the Open Sportsman competing in a 35 lap contest
Tickets for the Alabama Slammer will be $10 for adults $8 for seniors and Military children 6-12 $5 Kids 5 and under are free.,
Gates open at 5 Budweiser Qualifying at 6 and racing at 7.
