Uncle Bob’s Street Stocks take the main stage in 50 lap-$1000 to win feature!

May 27, 2014 Montgomery, Al

The talk on the street is “who will take home the money” this Saturday night as the Uncle Bob’s Self Storage Street Stocks are the main event in the Four Star Freightliner Night of Destruction with a 1st prize purse of $1000! The competition will be stiff as some of the strongest Street Stocks in Alabama roll into the famed half mile facility.

The duo currently neck and neck for the point lead are both focused on the top spot. Chance Atkins in the #17 from Elmore, Alabama has his Monte Carlo SS dialed in to the Montgomery track and looks to steal the point lead from Montgomery’s Dwayne Wesenberg who leads by only 6 points. Neither driver is an easy mark as both has logged many laps at the historic speedway. The Event will consist of 50 laps with a competition caution just over half way. All cars must compete on Hoosier 890 tires and follow Montgomery Motor Speedway Street Stock Rules.

“We are really excited to feature the Street Stock division” stated track general manager Stan Narrison. “ We have seen some of the best races with these cars this season. The fans love them because they look like throwback stock cars and the drivers are real interesting individuals”. Youngblood drivers like Perry ”P2” Patino with two wins this season are looking to make their mark on this division as they work their way up to the higher divisions. Some crafty veterans will be in the field as Enterprise, Alabama racer Gary Davis will plan to make the trip north to try his #5x Camaro Z-28 against the stout field of cars coming from all over the Southeast.
